Yachiyo is located within the grounds of Nanzenji Temple, which is renowned as Kyoto’s premier spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. The Nanzenji neighborhood has developed as a resort area since the Meiji era, and its landscape, which strongly retains the atmosphere of those times, is still preserved today by prominent wealthy individuals from Japan and abroad. Yachiyo is a traditional Japanese-style ryokan where the seven guest rooms with garden views in the main building, the nine rooms in the annex, the banquet halls “Higashiyama” and “Heian,” and the adjoining garden restaurant “Ryotei Yachiyo” all offer seasonal Japanese cuisine and yudofu dishes for you to savor while immersed in a quintessentially Kyoto atmosphere.

You can enjoy its 54-degree hot spring water, which flows at 600 liters per minute. “Bettei ROSEN [ROSEN]” is an old private house that has been relocated to provide an inn where guests can enjoy the climate, gardens and Japanese culture of the Izumo region.

Echigo-Nagano Onsen, “Rankeisou”
A 40-minute drive from Tsubamesanjo, which is a 2-hour shinkansen ride from Tokyo Station via the Joetsu Shinkansen. A hidden inn in Niigata that can be reached in three hours.
This inn is a three-story wooden building that is now considered very precious. It stands along the Sumon River, against the backdrop of cedar and oak groves on the banks of the Sumon River, which originates from Mount Sumon and the mountains on the Hachijurigoe Road. It only has 17 guest rooms on its massive 3,000 tsubo (1 tsubo = about 3.3 square meters) property. You can really stretch your arms and legs out while you spend some time relaxing.
