Meigetsuso

Yamagata, Tohoku

The name Meigetsuso literally means “Inn of the Harvest Moon,”
and here you can enjoy watching the moon wax
and wane above the magnificent Zao mountain range.
Our twenty guest rooms are spacious and comfortable,
and some rooms include their own private open-air hot-spring baths.
We hold regular live events at the Okura Gallery,
and noted musicians give performances of traditional Japanese music,
classical music and jazz.
Yamagata is one of the most famous rice-producing regions in Japan,
and guests can select their own local wine or sake
by visiting the Sakagura wine cellar before dinner,
then enjoy it with their meal.
